For those of us who don't know, how does this auction work? Do we log on to Bigpumpkins or the Connecticut site? What time? Do we enter a chat room for the auction, or is it done through the message board? Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm intereated in one of the lots and would like some clarification before tomorrow. Thanks.

I am not speaking for th CT auction group, but, this is how most seed auctions work that I have been to. The room will be announced NLT tomorrow, it will be obvious with the amount of people in it. The auction will go something like this. They will anounce what lot is next, at that time you will state what lot you are bidding on and the dollar amount. Something like, Lot 1, $10. After a certain amount of time, the lead will say something like, going once, going twice, and if he/she gets to gone before another bid is made, then the lot is won by the highest bidder. Pretty straight forward, I do not think you will have any problems, unless you are on a dial up modem....LOL

Owen is correct. Tuesday night at 8:00 PM we will enter the allocated chat room. Ken will probably have one labeled just for that purpose. Dave or I will list the first lot & bidding will open. We move quickly calling often so as to keep things moving. The first time a bid is placed, the person should state their real name. After the klast call, the winner will be acknowleged & asked to email giantpumpkins@sbcglobal.net immediately with the lot #, their name, address & phone number. Winners should send a check or money order to the address they are provided within several days. Once the payment clears our bank we mail the seed(s).
All of the revenue from this auction benefits the CT Giant Squash & Pumpkin Growers Assoc. This year we paid our over $6000 in weigh-off prize money. This year I hope to increase the educational cirriculum we offer as well as fund the weigh-off.
