The man who gave us great music is no more. His songs were widely sung in every bar or auditorium especially in mining towns in Canada and parts of northern U.S. especially after a few drinks.
Remember his classics like Bud the spud, Sudbury saturday night, The man in the moon is a newfie, The hockey song, Margos' got the cargo and many more.

Stompin' Tom was born in ST.JOHN ,N.B. but was raised by a foster family in Skinners Pond ,P.E.I.. This is on the western end of the Island out back of Tignish, not too far from the wind-turbine test site. He always considered himself to be an Islander

I knew he lived somewhere in the area where I live, because I saw him at the local Canadian Tire a few times (actually wearing a baseball cap so you could hardly recognize him) but I had no idea he was only 10 minutes up the road from where I live. A great Canadian with great music that will live on forever. http://www.citynews.ca/2013/03/07/erin-ont-residents-remember-stompin-tom-connors/
