I got a last minute call from CITY TV today. Someone told them I had some big pumpkins I was picking today to take to Smoky. A very nice reporter came out and spent 2 hours in the patch with her TV camera. She did interviews with myself, my wife and my oldest son. It is supposed to be aired tomorrow (Friday the 5th) on the 6:30 pm and 11:00 pm news out of Calgary. If you live outside of Calgary but have a dish, check it out. I'm curious to see how much of a dork I look like talking about these things. Alan

I caught it Alan. And you didn't seem too much like a dork, LOL. It was pretty good. Seeing all these big ones is getting me fired up for next season. I'll be starting some soil prep. soon. Hoping to double this years PB. I think I still did pretty good considering I used store bought seed (175 est). Should be better next with good genetics, some soil enhancements and some luck.
Good luck at the weighoff.

Thanks Scott, I was quite impressed with the job she did. Good luck with your pupkins next year. Let me know if you need some good seeds for next year. Hey Glenn, nope, I think Don Crews has the record at 681 lbs, but I'm still quite happy with it after all that has happened this year. The prize money pays for a bit of gas LOL! Alan

Hey Dean, good to hear from you. We missed you in Smoky! Sorry Bud, but we might be heading east and flying over top of you. This year, if the stars align, it might be Ottawa in mid-May. I wonder if I can get any patch tours out there? I'll save a few cold ones for you if you are ever out this way. Alan
