First, national record before this season was about 169 pounds(77kg) What happened this year with help of bp folks:
263.8 lbs(119.9 kilos) grown by "Jane Doe"(seed 771 Hooker) 216.7 lbs(98.5 kilos) grown by "Jane Doe2" 191.4 lbs(87 kilos) grown by "Jane Doe2" 188.5 lbs(85.7 kilos) Miika Mäntyniemi(548.3* Duchezeau) 162.8 lbs(74 kilos) Miika Mäntyniemi(329.5 J.Andrews) 150.3 lbs(68.3 kilos) Miika Mäntyniemi(905 Toftness) 141* lbs (64.1 kilos) me again(735 Zayckowsky)
141* is biggest squash ever grown in Finland.
Why Jane Does? We are shy and without permit I cant add names. Both "Janes" are fine ladys thought.
We had nice competition online, I hope that next year is tougher and we get better results. I would like to thank folks on bp, specially those who send fine seeds to me last spring. And those whom I have chatted with. Without your help this wouldnt happen. All of those pumpkins were grown from the seeds I got on spring. There were about 50 people in our race, thanks for all of them! Tomorrow biggest fruit is on our main News! What a way to make this insane hobby even more popular. We will see during Autumn and Winter, I will read a lot and have better prepered start next year:) Miika
