I have great pleasure in being able to congratulate Master Daniel Hume on becoming the New UK & European Giant Squash Record Holder. Today 6 Year Old Daniel, from the North of England, His Grandfather Mr Paul Harrigan, and a host of witnesses weighed Daniels Squash. The Squash was weighed on Certified Scales and weighed in at an amazing 990.6 Lbs and was is perfect condition.
More information to follow.
Regards Mike

In adition to Daniels' 990.6 Lb Squash he also grew a 740.8 Lb Squash which was also weighed today. More details of the 990.6 & 740.8 will be posted on this Thread tomorrow September 15. Pictures and details of the 990.6 & 740.8 will be in the Grower Diary section under the name PORRUM.

Very well done indeed and what a shame it didn’t make the 1000lb. European record, how cools that. Well done again, Ian

Absolutely amazing work. Congratulations. That really knocked the socks off of the old record for as long as it lasts.

Once again sincere congratulations on growing the giant squash. I could not be more pleased than the outcome of the record breaking effort. I don`t know if my posting was mis construed as negative. I know sincere means sincere. To quote Fulla "and another one hmmmmm" i`m not sure what that means - once again sincere congratulations John.
