Did you read the Jucker web-site? The European Championchip will be held in Ludwigsburg (Germany). It´s mid in Europe so all folks have a chance to come.
First will take 2.000 €. And if that first place pumpkin is heavier than 500 kg (1102,5 lbs) they ´ll pay an extra 1.000 €.
I wonder what seeds you plant to reach that goal?

No, the money it is not what attracted, if I would go to Germany, there first would be to meet the other growers, but I agree the money contributes to the happiness

It's about time!...although the Jucker team is not yet affiliated with any true pumpkin association and still counts squash as pumpkins. Maybe someday they will catch on but I doubt it.

Hope to see you all there! I will be there for certain as a spectator at least to meet any growers who show up.

It´s a long way travel but ho know, mayby i be there with something heavy from eather 1097,5 1104 hester or 1247 Handy. I guess that most of us have a long way and if we will come or not depends really of what we have on the trailer. Where in germany is this Ludwigsburg?

I will try the same seed as the one that produced my 416kgpumpkin.Other:582hester and 996 bobbier and perhaps 1458whitthier.Also 1 squash:895.5Hester.
I will also build a greenhouse again and i will try very hard to become European Champ.But i realise i will need a lot of luck to do so :-)

yes, the top three pumpkins (or more) belong to Jucker after the weighoff, including the seeds. That's the price you have to pay if want the money...

And that won't change until we get together and set up a GPC site with our own sponsors - anyone interested?

Ludwigsburg is a few km from Stuttgart in the south of Germany.

Seed is more than important, but I believe that the key is in the soil, the water and the care.
So I throughed out 15.000 Kg of old manure in the 300 sq ft patch a week ago and now is ploughed and tilled.
Seeds? Main selection: 1097.5 Beachy, 913 Perez and 664.5 Liggett. Backups: 3 x 913

You are all welcome to the weigh-off at Solberga Gård on the island of Öland in south-eastern Sweden. Biggest pumpkin wins SEK 20 (approx Euro 2,15) per kg of pumpkin. It takes place on the October, 1st. Pumpkins should be delivered between 10 am and 3 pm and the price ceremony is at 4 pm. During that same week-end there is a big harvest festival on the island with 500 different paticipants - an event that is in itself worth visiting.
