Last fall I dumped leaves from my yard into my patch. I never got to till them under before the snow fell. Am I able to till in the leaves this spring and still use the patch for this season?

I would place them opposite of where ever you plan to start and compost them otherwise they will tie up you nitrogen

And depends on type. For example, most Oaks take longer to break down.

You can get by tilling them in if you don't have too many and if you add a little extra nitrogen. Something organic like Chickety Doo Doo will add N without burning.
