Yes, good for adding OM, 21-28 days 2-3' turn it in before it blooms or you will have carry over. Shades out the weeds. Needs warm weather.

I use buckwheat as a summer cover crop between the pumpkin plants every year. Like UnksDan said, it grows faster than the weeds, so it crowds them out. It is very easy to cut down too, and it won't grow after cutting.
