There is a very good read in a diary of Monty Wallace at Perrys Greenhouse site, its the best read I have come across on how to read a soil sample and what each abbreviation means on a soil sample. He really broke it down nice for a beginner on how to read a sample, it sure did help me understand them better.

He also has a link to an article Bohica (Tom) cut and pasted which is quite good.
