I was asked this Q how much Gypsum would you put down in clay soil, 10,000sqft patch. Thank you!

Depends on your soil test. But in any event do not exceed 5 pounds per 100 square feet in any one application and till it in for good dispersion. Gypsum can be added at this rate in the fall and then again in the spring right before planting.

Thank you Anaid_ since i must be sitting on the only ground in NC without clay it was a interesting question,and yes soil test is a must, i know clay has better holding capasity. I suggested 8 pounds per 100 sqft,that works for me, and leaches out fairly quick, but i have sandy ameneded soil, so.. i thought i better throw out a life line.
