The horse manure I have been using in the past is mixed with sawdust (not sure what kind). Is this a good thing? Bad thing? or does it really matter?

Type of sawdust & how much & how old are all considerations. Hardwoods in high percentages that are very fresh may draft down Nitrogen. If it has aged a while (one years) then I wouldn't worry about it. If it's fresher you can always add a little soluble N.
