I am going to pick my first giant pumpkin this week, the stem died, It's about 75" circumference, about 120 lbs by the chart- I can pick it up and move it, whats the best way to store it long term? I'd like it to last till Halloween- Cool dark dry place? It won't fit in the fridge!

Cool and dark yea buuuttt...better keep a close in on it...my guess is it’s young and will rot quick...especially if the stem rotted...plant still good?...grow another...

Thanks for the advice- It was pollinated right around 4th of July, it has good hard skin, decent color, I hope it doesn't rot- I have a few others going on different plants, but lots of borer bugs here!! I don't want to use any nasty chemicals, its my vegetable garden-

Still humid and rainy so I picked him today, had a borer bug biting into the side which i took care of and painted the wound with sulfur dust , 145 lbs, sat the pumpkin in my living room by the fireplace for safe keeping in front of the A/C.

Wipe it down with Lysol wipes or a bathroom cleaner as much as possible.
