Hi, I'm a rookie grower and new member of the website. Do female flowers only bloom once? If so, how is one supposed to catch them to be sure they're pollinated if bugs aren't being pollinators? I.E. bees.

Only 1 chance per flower. Keep an eye on them in the evening. If they are starting to show a little color, they may be ready to open the next morning. Go out early to see if they are open. After a while you will learn when they will be opening.

One chance?! How can I tell if it was actually pollinated?

Best to pollinate it yourself to be sure. Otherwise you will know in a couple days when it aborts. Make sure you use fresh male flowers. One male flower can be enough, but I like to use 2 or 3 to make sure I get everything pollinated.

Fellow growers the female flowers didn't bloom this morning... Take a look at this picture and tell me if at this one will bloom tomorrow? In my opinion it looks like a real winner! I have at least two that look like this.

BTW, the pumpkin I was asking about wasn't pollinated. It's shriveling up as is the flower... =/ Our first casualty.
