Hi, Kind of had some bad luck with some strong winds here a few days ago.
My main vine was about 5 feet long when it cracked at about 4 feet from the stump,
Cracked right across the top like breaking a stick over your knee
The crack is only across the top part of the stem and didn't go all the way down the sides.
I have covered it in grafting wax to keep it from drying out, The main stem is still growing maybe 5 inches or a tad more a day and hasn't dided of yet.
But what i was trying to find out is, should i terminate the main stem and try to get one of the secondaries closest to the crack to become the new main vine?
Any information or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't look like you would be losing too much time by cutting it off. If you can cut it and still be in your proper pollination window. I would consider cutting it.
I am not sure if the grafting wax will be helpful or harmful. If any one else has tried something like that it would be interesting to hear from them here.

Cheers, might as well remove it then, if nothing else, at least it is another learning curve.

You can cut it off and let the last secondary turn into your new main, its your call
