Can I grow a giant pumpkin, that sprouts in October, in southern Arizona on a north facing wall??

I say why not, they only need about 6 hours of sun to do well, The best temps are 70-80s in day and do ok with night temps above 50.

Check us out at AZGPG.com, we just started the club last spring...we grew Jan 01 -May 30 with a weigh off end of may....diarys: "Davidphx" "Deanaz", Dean broke the AZ 8 year old record, I missed it by a couple lbs...I tried for 4 years in summer, too hot to set fruit....

There have been several growers who have grown pumpkins over the winter but that's been in a green house with supplemental light. Even in Arizona it can get pretty chilly at night in the winter so you might want to try growing it in a large hoop house Heating cables would also be a good idea to keep the ground warm.
