I'm sure if I search around enough I could probably find something on terminating vines, but so far nothing. So could someone please, in detail, explain a process that works for you regarding the process of terminating and burring secondaries.

When the end of the secondary is 18 inches from the edge off the patch or edge of the allotted area for that vine, pinch the end of the vine off with your fingers just after the last leaf you intend to keep. Allow the nodes to fully elongate, then cover the nodes with some soil. That's it.

pair of scissors, snip the end of the vine at the last leaf you want to keep, and as orange neck says, it will go about 18 inches farther as it grows and lays down. Don't cut too short until you get the hang of it(you can always cut another node off, cant put one back).
