I am using Talstar (Bifenthrin) and Merit 75. Any recommendations on spray frequency to combat SVB?
Also does applying pesticides (Merit) to the soil kill beneficial bacteria?

Merit doesnt harm myco not sure about beneficial bacteria, but a lot of people use Merit applied as a drench its good up to 6 weeks.
Not sure how well Bifen would kill SVB I use it for squash bugs and cukes

I am not sure about SVB... but Bifenthrin is the real deal. The bugs are rolling out 15' ahead of me in the patch. But it does kill worms and any bugs in your soil for about 9 month residual. Merit is an excellent aphid killer I use late in the season here, if I need it.
1 to 1.5 tsp/gallon Bifen at weekly intervals if needed and did not harm my plants last year. I spray after it cools down in the evening.
