Subject: soil test - too much of a good thing?

Hello All,
I have the results of my first soil test and am looking for some advice.
PH 6.52 OM 13.7 P 2008 KG/HA K 1045 KG/HA CA 4940KG/HA Mg 578 KG/HA NA 521 KG/HA Sulphur 108 KG/NA Aluminium 891 ppm Boron 1.36ppm Copper 5.19ppm Iron 215ppm Manganese 43ppm Zinc 22.72ppm Salt (mmhos)? .890 CEC 18.8
Base Saturation %
K 5.9 Ca 65.8 Mg 12.8 Na 6.0 H 9.4
Any help would be very appreciated. Trying to grow a 500 pounder in my yard.

When I look at phosphorus it looks like a deposit, not like a patch, LOL. In your patch it will be the phosphate which stimulates root growth, and myco will probably say Goodbye (no need to apply myco, IMHO). Everything else is NOT TO BAD (Mg could be slightly higher...by another 100-200 ppm something like that, and your soil pH could be a bit closer to 7), you should be able to grow a 500+ pounder in this soil...as long as you don´t over-do with nitrogen. Can´t find any data in your soil report.

Remember to use ONLY stainless steel or plastic when taking samples....no rusty shovel or trowel. It will screw your test up...been there. The reason I ask is because you Fe and Zinc are way high.

Thanks Hank. I am going to amend the soil and do another test in the spring. I will use plastic.
