P and P seeds has lifting tarps for around $60. Works well with small pumpkins. I lifted my 650 lber with one and 4 guys. I've seen guys double up those blue tarps and lift them but I would buy the lifting tarp to be on the safe side, plus they last for years.

On YouTube there was a video which explained how to put a giant pumpkin or squash onto a pallet...this could also be helpful (unfortunately, I haven´t found the link yet).

We use a furniture dolly for 350lbs. Roll it in its side, pop the dolly under it, and pull it out of there

roll it on its side and slide a drop cloth or a tarp under it.then lower it back down and have one guy on each corner lift it.

Last year I loaded a 441 pound pumpkin by tilting it up and sliding a pallet underneath. Then we used 2 x 4 's as skids and slid the pallet up the 2 x 4's into the back of the truck. There were four of us and it wasn't too dificult.
