I have a nice sized pumpkin and just noticed the vine has split. The vine has grown underneath the pumpkin if I try to move it the vine will split more. Any suggestions, how about duct tape???

That sounds like serious trouble. If you are talking about the vine that the pumpkin is attached to, it will probably self-destruct as the pumpkin gets bigger. The vine needs to be able to rise up off the ground as the pumpkin gets bigger, if it is under the pumpkin you have to get it out of there. Duct tape is great for a lot of things but not this.
