I have just posted to my diary so pictures should be up some time today

http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryView.asp?season=2012&grower=55348&action=L

I tinkered with the blossom end and pulled off the five long green spikes that are normally outside of the flower. This left wounds around the blossom end which a silica gel like substance oozed out as it healed. I have taken two photos, the day discovered and 3-4 days since. Will the would be okay and should I be doing anything to it. The weather here is dry for now and the pumpkin is shaded

Thanks in advance for your help

treat it with a fungicide, and learn from your mistake.

This is interesting; when removing the flower after a couple days, is it just the pedals that should be removed? What about the lobs? Leave them to dry out or???

Let them dry and wither off

Mine had almost dried off until I interferred with them. Lesson learnt Linus ;)
