I got home today from a wonderful day at work. My wife instantly tells me that Xcel Energy (my power company) came to look at our electrical box because our neighbors were out of power. The Electricans proceeded to stomp right thru my patch and crushes some vines even after my wife told them to be careful. I have been so patient this year with the slow growth and the heat, and now this.....So now what do I do? Cut the vines and spray fungicide?

CHeck your vineZ out. Where they are really crushed, cut them there, then bury. You can put Captan on the cuts. If thirdZ are there let them grow out to replace the other vines, fill up the voids with other vines and leaves.... Salvage what you can. Then I would call Excel energy get to a supervisor and take your frustationZ out on them. I would think at minimum they owe you an apology, its your property not theirZ. They had no respect for you, I wouldnt stop till I got satisfaction !!

complain for your cost of damages. You think they would be able to trash competition roses. Or if they scratch your car. If they stepped on my main I would sue them for the time and products for the year. for me that would be hundreds.

So I called and they did appologize, then I found out that they only put a bandaid on the electricity problem and have to come back next week. They "put in the notes" to be careful and not go near the plant......we will see how it turns out this year......patience is painfull in this hobby sometimes :)

If you want to guarantee they avoid the patch as much as possible just put a note where they can see it that the plant has just been sprayed with a toxic insecticide and fungicide that could affect the nervous system if it gets on skin thru direct contact or from clothing being infected and possibly.getting on skin or eyes. They will avoid it like the plague

I once had a neighbor who's kids had no respect and would always throw basketballs into the patch on purpose. After one incident I walked the ball to his father with the msds sheets from Quadris and warrior t and told him he may want to sterilize the ball before giving it back to the kids. He never made his kids listen and not do it again UNTIL then. I didn't see another ball in the patch the rest of the season.
