I have a nice plant that is about twenty feet on the main vine. The first secondary off the main is about fifteen feet long and throwing off tertiary vines like it was the main. I have the room to let the tertiary vines run. There is a female ready to open tomorow at 12 feet. So I am just asking opinions on the merits of using this vine as a second main. I don't want to run all these tertiary vines out if it would be too detrimental to the kins on the main. Thanks

You might let them grow out for a couple of weeks and then have them all terminated by the time the 12 ft pumpkin is three weeks old.

If the roots of this secondary are well established, you can cut it off the plant right at the stump/ main vine and treat it as an independent plant so as not to steal nutrients from your main pumpkin.
