I am getting ready to make the transition from pot to ground, and had a quick question. Should I put the plant in the ground where the soil comes up close to the bottom leaves, or should I put the plant in the ground where it will be level with where the stem comes out of the soil in the pot?

There are differning opinions on this, I bury it almost to the cots. Here is a good picture depicting why.

Yeah, if Don young buries up to the cot I would do the same. I saw an article on here last year where a guy was experimenting with letting the seedling get leggy and then buring the stem so that he had more plant below ground for those side roots to come out of.

Bury up to the cots so the wind doesn't twist them around so easily.
