the biggest reason new growers fail is because they do not protect their plants from insect and disease problems.below is a beginners guide to help prevent these problems. three catagories will be listed, contacts ( only works on areas sprayed ) systemics (will work its way theough the plants root and vascular system ) and biological soil drenches.suggested you mix a systemic with a contact for best coverage-pls note ------tb=table spoon/ts=tea spoon
contacts daconil - see label for amt/gal - broad spectrum fungicide manzate - 2 tbl/gal - fungicide for downey mildew kocide - 1 ts/gal - copper fungicide for leaf blights liquid 7 - see label-general insecticide
systemics aliette - 1.5 tbl/gal - downey mildew/phytopthora cleary 3336 - 2.5 ts/gal - powdery mildew/leaf diseases eagle - 2.5 ts/gal - powdery mildew/leaf blights compass - 1.5 ts/gal - anthracnose/powdery mildew phyton 27 - 1 ts/gal - bactericide for mildews/leaf spot warrior t - 1/2 ts /gal - for vine borers/cuck beetles merit 75 wsp - 1/2 ts/gal - for aphids-beetles-borers
biological drenches actonivate - see label - for pythium/fusarium rootshield - see label - for pythium/fusarium for spray schedule see new growers spray program pt2

Hi Pap,
Can you indicate which insecticides are "restricted" and which ones are "general use"? I'm pretty sure all fungicides are still "general use".
Thanks!
