Does anyone have, or know where i can get, plans for a hot house similiar to the ones built by Joe Jutras in New England in 2009?

Here's the plans for Joe's hot houses written by Joe himself: http://www.sngpg.com/images/Hot_House.jpg

My father is retired and just finished building me a couple of these hot houses from these plans. It's nice having a father who's retired and looking for something to do. :-)

I built 4 of them last winter, modified a little, from Joes plans in Don Langevin's latest book. "How To Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins The Organic Way"

Just want to thank you all for your feedback.I should have the book "how to grow world class giant pumpkins the organic way" in my hands on monday. I couldn't get the page on the sngpg site to reduce on my computer. I had actually seen that page before i posted my question. Thanks again for your help and I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a blessed and successful upcoming growing season. I have been trying to grow the big one for a number of years now without much success. I'm retired now and hope I can give this endeavor the attention it takes. It is quite a challenge to grow anything here in eastern oregon. Probably be starting my diary on jan 1. tom white(bakerman)

As a second year grower for 2012, I am really debating on whether to go with a hoophouse or use the Joe Jutras Hot House. Does anyone know which direction Joe oriented the plants inside the hhis houses? I think that just may swing me either way

I'm thinking hoophouse too. As cool and unforgiving as the weather is here in the spring I might need more room than the Jutras hothouse affords. I'm kind of leaning toward a 16 x 16 like Joel Holland uses. Since I will be growing 2 main plants I might just try one of each. I have used hoop houses before but the spring was very cold and I didn't use any heating cables or heaters. The wind got kind of nasty too but for the most part they worked.
As for orientation of the direction of the plant I am going to set mine up according to the direction of the prevailing winds this year. I have always run them north and south but since I am starting to pay more attention to detail I will be running them east to west. Our prevailing winds here are SSE and NNW. Don't know if it will affect sun exposure any. Go on-line to Astronomical Application Department, U.S. Naval Observatory and you should be able to find your prevailing wind direction there. If not then some weather site for your area might be able to help. Hope this has helped some. I know all the info I have digested never discloses which direction the plants run. Like I said I have always run mine north and south only because of convenience and my lot runs north and south. Merry Christmas and a good growing season.
