I have a pumpkin that is not growing much. Between 1/4" to 1/2" every 2 days. I need major help guys, this is the only pumpkin that I have growing because I didnt get anymore blooms. 1 pumpkin out of 2 plants. Something's wrong here.. I put worm compost tea on them Wed evening, and what was litte was left in the bottle of fish fert on Friday. I've kept it plants watered pretty good. I did check for bugs of any kind on the plants and there was none. I dont have any mildew...I'm just stumped on what the problem could be. Inless this heat and humidity has done something to them??? Oh and the pumpkin was pollionated on the 16th.. So its a week old.

You may not have a fertilized pumpkin. Sometimes the act like they are after pollination...is the pumpkin shiny or does it have an opaque look

The bottom of New Jersey

I'm a little confused - if it is a week old and 19 3/4" around, how could it be growing only 1/4 to 1/2 inch every 2 days? That is actually a very good size for its age.

They grow slow in the begiining...relax...more pumpkins are killed every year from growers thinking if some is good more must b better...prevent powdery mildew is you next worry

sounds normal to me. you should be ok. keep the fruit shaded with some cheese cloth-etc, for a couple weeks. after that ? a sheet will help keep the heat and sun off the fruit

a small sheet, piece of cheese cloth or an old white t-shirt is sufficient early on. dont put to heavy a covering on the small fruit.it still needs air circulation.
