If the main needs to be cut off for whatever reason and a secondary vine is to be trained as the new main and a female is pollinated on this "New Main" I will call it, is it still considered a main vine pollination or a side vine pollination since that is what the vine was in the first place?
Thank you

I think 'secondary main' is the correct term. The larger % of the plant you allow to be grown on a given secondary, the larger that vine will get. So after a while that secondary vine you train as a new main could get as thick as the original main itself if you let it grow enough plant.

If for instance you had to grow your pumpkin on a secondary would you need to make that vine the main to get a good sized pumpkin? Could I terminate a foot or so after the pumpkin or would I need to grow that vine as the main so that all nutrients and water flow down well?

Have heard several times about somethin called a secondary main, that grow's off the back of the main "stump". If grown on that vine I would call it "grown on 2ndary main". If true main vine was terminated, and a 2ndary vine was trained as new main, I would call it "grown on (3rd, 4th, 5th...whatever) 2ndary as new main". Bottom line...if it's HUGE it doesn't matter!!! Grow em Big!!! Peace, Wayne PS...If it quacks like a Duck, and weighs 1811#'s...it's a new world record!!!

yeah call it what you want real thing is result,if you redirect flow of plant to secondary name means nothing result does and been plenty of instances where new main or secondary or what ever you choose to call it have done well.
