Hi all, I am new to this and am having problems with two items. First and foremost does anyone have a picture of tertiary vines? I know there is a main and then secondaries form but am not 100% sure about the tertiaries.I don't want to pick the wrong thing. Are they the new growth that form at the nodes on the secondaries or what. I sure would love to see some closeup photos of what they are and where to prune them. Thanks so much all and this is gonna be fun, I hope.

Tertiaries would be just like the secondaries on the main vine except they are growing off of the secondaries ( so vines coming off the stum is the main - vines growing from the main are secondaries and vines growing off the secondaries are tertiaries (and if you let those grow and have vines coming off of the tertiaries they would be quaternary, then quinary, senary, septenary, octonary, nonary, and denary )

So pinch the new vine on the secondary at the node and leave the flower bud on or pinch it too- Thanks so much and sure would love to some pictures just to make sure what I am doing is correct. Thanks all--

npg, leave the flower...till you have everything you need pollinated...then pinching the flower w/the tert won't be a prblm!!! Bad row to hoe...if ya have a kin to pollinate, and no males to do the deed!!!! Peace, Wayne PS...obviously leave the leaf growing on the secondary!!! PPS...have you tried "site search" for tertiaries? Might show something!!!

Made this just for you. Its a little out of focus but it will give you the idea. Its easiest if you pinch them off before they really have a chance to grow.
