I have a bunch of ants crawling all over 1 of my plants. they are a very small red ant. they don't seem to be doing any direct harm to the plant. should I hit them with rotenone and pyrethrum?

I have had plants killed by yellow ants that eat the roots off. I wouldn't take chances and get rid of them.

Ants harvest aphids, they transport them from plant to plant. Aphids secret a nectar called honeydew which the ants love. Fairly gross....lol Get rid of the Ants!
