I need 2 pumpkin seeds. They don't have to be the biggest ever seeds. I am new to this big pumpkin thing, and just want to keep trying. I was trying to get her to lay down off the mound and put to much pressure on the hangers. I started yesterday putting hangers on. She looked good this morning. I knew better, I should of put a little pressure and let her alone. The leafs were bigger then a dinner plate. I started her April 23. She was just about 4 feet. I put dirt on it maybe it will be ok I"ll find out this weekend going to 90. The kicker,, is I gave my other plants away. I have room for one plant. I still got time to grow one were in sw pa. my email address is edrsilsley@comcast.net Thanks Have a great weekend ED

Road trip? Thanks lol. Just like everyone else. money for gas. I knew not to keep just one plant. This will never happen again. But it didn't wilt. I put dirt on it. Maybe she will keep going. Ed

Now that the panic has calmed down. I am letting the plant grow. The vine has not wilted ,,yet. But it is a matter of time until the plant gets bigger and rips the vine off. The break is 18" or so from the plant. There are leaf growth, three places coming out from the leafs. My question is Will the plant grow a secondly main vine from one of those points? A pumpkin is better then no pumpkin. And the seeds will be worth it.

ed,the plant will grow a seconday main from one of those side vine nodes. If the plant was four feet long then youre getting a good root system and the plant can recover pretty fast.If its a big tear in the main you should amputate the plant there.Cant tell without a good photo

Thanks Cojoe. I don't need to show a picture I know it should come off. I didn't know if I should let the plant get rid of it or if I should do it. I am going to the garden for a few hours I'll take a picture and post it. Maybe it can help someone. Thanks Ed

hi ed,saw your photos. You should cut it off at the break. That nice secondary right before the break will become your main. The secondary is already getting a lot of juice
