My leaves have been looking very old an tired. I have posted a few pictures in my diary.
Any comments on what causes this would be very welcome

I have been spaying a lot of chemicals on these leaves all season. Could that be it?

We have had a very hot and sunny summer with little or no rain. could that be it?

I could be infected with the dreaded downy mildew.
could that be what it is?

Your leaves look to be in pretty good shape for their age.
Old and tired mostly.

Wally I agree with Ron. My oldest leaves look the same. I don't think your summer has been too hot up there. My leaves lasted almost a straight month of 105+ heat indexes (cold front moved in today though). But if worries about too much chemicals, dilute it more. Good luck!

Wally, I noticed you have some new growth growing. Cut some of the older leaves out to give the new growth some room to grow. The new leaves will be more productive in making food.
I am learnning that pruning is a season long procedure.

if we stood out in the patch all season, got hit with wind, water, chemical sprays, fertalizers,etc? immagine how we would look.
age can not be helped . its a natural part of the plants growth cycle.
its disease and its effects on the plant and leaves that are a constant concern.
