20 days left, should I begin terminating some seconaries near the base?

I assume you're talking about terminating the Leads of the secondaries. YES If your fruit is Very large you may want to trim 1-2 each day so as not to blast the fruit. But you do want to get them cut to get all that energy to the fruit.

So the "leads" of the secondaries would basically be any vine coming off the main? Should I start closest to the trunk and work my way down the vine?

The "leads", I'm refering to, are the Vine TIPs. The "Secondaries" are the Vines off of the Main. Vines off the secondaries, Terchiaries(sp), and should all be trimmed off. The Secondary vine's TIPs should be pinched and burried. This will send all of the energy to the fruit instear of more leaves.
