I have some major splits where some of my secondairies meet up with my main. That almos look like large cankers but I belive they are splits.

1. what might cause this? and

2. What is used on the cracks?

Could be a vine borer in there. Does your canker or split area look anything like this?

If so, I would dig the little critter out of there and spray that area with some Daconil.

Sounds like what happens when the wind whips the vines and it cracks and scars over
