Subject: poked a small hole in skin

i had a plastic foot stool over my punkin for shade and somehow it poked a small 1/8" hole in the pumpkins skin ... should i do anything ? is this a death sentence for the fruit?

As long as it's not in the cavity, it should scar up just fine. hit the hole with a fungicide to prevent infection.
