are all 4 on the main vine? if so start measuring all of them and decide on growth amount, positioning and stem angles to the vine.

Depends on what you are growing for - If you are trying to get the biggest you can then you'll want to see which is growing fastest and/or has the best positioning and keep it and cull the others ( the plant can provide more nutrients to just a single pumpkin and this will get you the best size -- If you are growing for genetics then a plant could handle 4 or more but they will be smaller than if you just grew the 1.

If your other four are set? then yes there would be no point to keep pollinating,,,,,
In my opinion!

roger four pollinations that have taken on the main vine should be more than enough to choose from.im assuming your first one is around 10ft out from the plants base? if not id cull a couple of the close in pollinations and grow more main /sides and set a few farther down the line? its a long season and you need plenty of side growth and plant length to support growing a giant. email me if you have further question papsbuick56@aol.com. we are just over the ct line in ri (western coventry r.i.) if your close enough you could drop by for a look see. pap

main vine is always best. secondary if thats all you can get for pollinations.just like traveling its always netter on the main highway vs secondary road.
