What should I do with a bent stalk? Cut it or leave it? Picture in my diary. Thank you! I appreciate any and all input.

Looks like they are at the base of the plant? Cut them off they'll need to be removed soon anyway. You want a nice clear base. No leaves should cover the crown.

I really appreciate your input. Should I cut them all the way down at the base? I'm thinking that's what I should do. Plenty of work to do in my patch today. Tilling more so they have more room.

A dusting of some type of fungicide would prbly be benificial at the cut. I try and dust every cut I make, w/ Captan powder. Seems to help dry out the cut, and prevent fungus prblms, caused by the "weeping" at the cut. As Chris stated, the base, or stump area of the plant does need to be cleared out a lil, so an early bent leaf removal, should not be a prblm!!! Grow em BIG!!! Peace, Wayne

Thanks Wayne! I added the Captan tonight, even though a lady at the garden store was pushing me to use something different. I stuck to my guns! Peace, Susan :)
