I have four really nice plants started that I plan on putting two on each end of the patch. Do I have enough room to grow out a few of these plants?

Newbie says thanks

And should each plant have it's own mound? Should I set them out in the four corners?

Thanks in advance

RichFig,
Although most of the older "How to grow giant pumpkin" books are outdated, the info and history is very interesting. I think that The SNGPG has put out a CD and DVD that is second to none, The "How I grew the 1502" and the SNGPG 2009" videos, and in my opinion, Jim Beauchemin made a Video that I feel all New growers should see atleast once.

Rich fig, a 25 x 30 , 750 sq ft patch is usually sufficient for one plant, you can try to squeeze 2 in there and use this year as a learning year, putting newly learned techniques to use and getting a feel for the plants, you can grow a fairly decent size fruit, but next season you may want to consider tilling up more patch.

probably 1 xmas tree plant or 2 flag plants.....depending on what your weight goal is?

The patch is now 45 x 25. Going to try and grow one from each end. Thanks Tom, thats what I'm think. It's a learning year and I'll be very happy with whatever I come up with.

Thanks all

I think one plant is best. You'll need the extra space as you learn all the techniques of tip toeing and boardwalking without snapping a tip.
