I always have to spray for powdery mildew every year.
I have been using a product from SAFER, that has been very effective. I have been using Daconil on the stump, straight out of the bottle. I paint it on. Why does the Daconil look like milk? When I put it on the stump it looks just like the powdery mildew. If I mix it up with water and spray it on the leaves, it leaves a white residue when it drys that looks just like I sprayed powdery mildew all over my leaves. That's why I have been using the SAFER product, It goes on clear. Can anyone tell me why the Daconil is milk white? and can anyone tell me if there is a mildew preventer that can be sprayed on, that is not white? What do you guys use? Am I mixing it wrong?

There's and old saying among golf supers....paint it white, sleep at night.

Daconil is white. However it remains on the leaf surface as a fungistatic barrier.

Powdery Mildew lives within the leaf...killing it.

I spray a 10:1 solution of fat-free milk and water on my squash once a week. Does a great job! Use fat free milk, the fat content in regular milk has been known the "smother" the plants clogging pores in the leaf.
