Is it important to keep all the soil in the hoophouse moist, or just around the plant ?
We have had very dry weather this april and I was wondering if the dry soil in the hoop should be moist to help get the soil biology going. I have had them up for 3 weeks and kept them shut, so the soil is VERY dry down to about 6 inches. Lee

These roots are gonna outrun the plant on top if the area below the plant allows it. If you don't extend the water zone the roots will see no reason to expand....keep watering further out. good luck...GrowEmBig! Chuck

Thanks Chuck, that does make a lot of sense. Yesterday I did water the entire inside of my hoop houses, even the ones that are still empty. Lee
