some of the products we listed can be quite costly. for that reason we added LIQUID 7 as a insecticide and KOCIDE as our copper spray. KOCIDE can replace PHYTON 27. we would highly reccommend purchasing MERIT and WARRIOR Tfor your choosen insecticide.LIQUID 7 although low in cost may not be effective for your needs.
OUR SUGGEST SPRAY SCHEDULE WOULD BE ( FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ON LABEL FOR MIXING AMTS )
MID TO LATE JUNE - dacomil and warrior t EARLY JULY - manzate + cleary + warrior t MID JULY - daconil + merit + phyton 27 WEEKLY FROM HERE ON OUT WEEK 4 - manzate + compas + warrior t WEEK 5 - aliette WEEK 6 - daconil + warrior t + eagle WEEK 7 - manzate + cleary + merit + phyton 27 WEEK 8 - daconil + warrior t + compass WEEK 9 - aliette WEEK 10 - manzate + warrior t + eagle WEEK 11 - daconil + merit + cleary + phyton 27 WEEK 12 - manzate + warrior t + compass
THE FUNGICIDES DACONIL, CLEARY,EAGLE,COMPASS AND MANZATE ARE ALSO RECCOMMENDED TO SPRAY YOUR GIANT PUMPKIN. MIXING A SYSTEMIC WITH A CONTACT FUNGICIDE IS RECCOMMENDED. BE SURE TO SPRAY STEM AREA AS WELL.
A GOOD BACK PACK SPRAYER ( GAS IS BEST BUT BATTERY OPERATED OR HAND PUMP CAN WORK TO ) IS RECCOMMENDED FOR LARGE GARDEMS HOWEVER, ON ONLY A COUPLE PLANTS YOU MAY GET AWAY WITH A PUMP SPRAYER.

This question should probably be a new post to my fellow Colorado growers. If you are not sure, I will do that. My plants have seemed healthy the last couple of years growing at altitude ( not many insects ) and in a fairly dry climate. I have seen powdery mildew from watering a lot. Would we have less need for these treatments and what are the signs your plants need to be treated.
Thanks Pap and Ron

shaker you should treat for powdery mildew BEFORE it shows up. once its on the leaves its to late.
wet humid conditions will bring it on fast. start spraying for prevention before this happens.
in our area we add an occasional spray for mildew starting in early august approximately every 7 to 10 days depending on the weather.

Thank you very much for sharing this helpful information.
I am also interested in the answer to Orange with Envy's question: Is there a replacement for Warrior T?
What are some ways to source Warrior T? Do you have to be a farmer with a pesticide licencse to buy it?

we usually let our fall and spring soil test tell us what to do when it comes to any fertalizer imbalance we do add several inches of aged cow and a sprinkling of chicken plus a layer of well composted leaves ( from the central land fills resourse program ) in the fall most years
one thing we do though is at planting time and during side vine growth burying ( and as a top dress along the main vines path ), we add a sprinkling of mico fungi mixed with 0-0-50.( 3 parts fungi to 1 part 0-0-50 )
we do the sprinkling of 0-0-50 because potassium is used in heavy amounts buy the growing fruit and gets depleted fast during mid to late season.

All the insecticides you have listed PAP are not avalable in NY nor can they be shipped to NY at least to my area. The only one that I was able to get Merit and I Had to travel out of state to get it. Are there anything that is equal to or close to that I can get in NY?
thanks Randy

Is this spray schedule only if you have problems or should it be used as a preventative even though there are no problems present?
