I have spread composted leaves, lime and chicken manure over my patch and tilled them in to the soil do I cover it or leave it uncovered? will the rain wash away the nutrients?

Yes, the rain will wash away some of the solubles..but the chicken manure is likely a bit hot, anyway. I would leave it uncovered.
Next year it would be a good idea to put down a cover crop of winter rye after your amendments in October.

it depends, if your patch is on a slope you should cover it to prevent too much soil from washing away over the course of the winter. but if its flat i wouldn't worry too much about it.
