Last night while measuring, my biggest AG pumpkin (144 OTT day 30) has developed a slight crack in the stem and is oozing a greenish fluid. I wiped it down and sprayed it with a mild bleach solution. Is there anything else I can do?

There's no stem stress, from what I can tell. I already had the tap roots cut each direction about 2 feet from the pumpkin and everything seems nice and loose. Pumpkin is only growing about 1" in circ. per day over the past week. We've had over 3" of rain here the last 2 weeks. Hopefully we get some sun and heat up here in PA soon to help get them growing again.

edit to add..

the crack is only about 3/8" long and is with the grain of the stem... It's about an inch away from the pumpkin. Kinda a weird spot for it to crack?

Get a fan on the stem and cover the crack with Daconil or sulpher paste. Sounds like the pumpkin is growing fast and that rain might make it take off. Keep the stem dry.
