Well after a nasty hailstorm made swiss cheese out of my patch it has just about fully recovered and I have two basketball size fruits growing rapidly. One is at about 16' out and the other about 14'. Now, how many secondaries should I terminate and if any, is it best to terminate the ones closest to the stum or the one's closest to the end of the main?

If your leaves got wiped out, I would let them grow. The more leaves you have, the bigger the factory you have making carbohydrates to feed the pumpkin. They need more than just water from the roots.
