Hi. I will post a photo in a little bit but I just noticed our least interesting pumpkin has a split in stem that is going through the wall of pumpkin too - I am pretty sure I can see into the cavity. It is my least interesting pumpkin and the reason we grew four instead of two this year but can it be saved. It is about 150 and still putting on about 10 pounds a day. I will put on a bunch of anti fungal foot powder and see what happens and if it can be resurrected - if nothing else I will try the foot powder and some duct tape and see what happens hahahaha. It is the plant that also had ribbon vine - needless to say there will be no seeds planted from this one next year hahahaha. Thanks for any advice. Steve

If you have any M-80s left over from the fourth of July you can light the fuses and stick them into the cavity. That'll solve your problems.

Hahahahaha. I will try duct tape and foot powder and see what I can do. It is a great spot for filling it with water - or lead shot - before the contest. Then fill it in with wood putty and paint it orange hahahaha. Our contest is at night hahahaha. Steve

Well after spraying a ton of foot powder around inside of crack and duct taping this pumpkin is still growing and grew approx 15 pounds first day and appears to be close to twenty today. If nothing else it is getting to be a better and better looking halloween pumpkin hahaha. Steve

Okay. In three days since loading it with foot powder and duct taping it it has grown over 50 pounds. I am going to let it keep cruising along and see what happens. At worst we get a great jackolantern out of it hahaha. steve

pumpkins that blow thru to the cavity will continue to grow for a while, leading one to think its going to be ok. its not. shortly it will stop growing and go down.

Thanks pap. I wondered about this. I am waiting for a new fruit on this vine so I have left it on until we get one. Apparantly it was not the duct tape and foot powder doing the trick hahahaha. Steve
