I have my first female growing at about 7 feet out. Should I get rid of it??

im on my 4th one and my vine is 7 foot and im gonna let it polinate and see how fast it grows if i dont like it in 2 weeks ill abort it!! pizza but im a first year grower!!! from what i read on hear its good to let a couple of fruit polyinate then choose one so u should have 2 or 3 to pic from i would think!!! theese guys know better than me this is just what im trying!!!!!!!!!! pizza

I would not get rid of it. I will also assume the female is on the main vine. If you have pollen available, this would be a good time to "practice" with a pollination.

I usually end up pollinating 3 females on the main vine. Some fruit will end up having better vine placement than others.

Also, I try to measure the circumference of each pumpkin at 5 day intervals from when they were pollinated. What you want to see is which one is growing the fastest.

Sometimes, it is too hot and the fruit aborts or there are other problems with fruit #2 and fruit #3 and you will be glad you pollinated fruit #1 on the main vine.

These things can be hard to successfully pollinate sometimes. I would DEFINITELY pollinate it. Who knows, it may be the only one you get. If you get good pollinations later on down the line you can always go back and cull that first one. One at 7 foot is better than none at all.
