I was told to remove all tendrils and vines that start off of the secondary vines. However I am noticing that many vines in photos in diaries still have tendrils etc.. Is removing them just a preference thing or is it actually helpful. It is a lot of work trying to keep them all at bay so if it is just a preference thing I want to reconsider hahahaha. Thanks. Steve

Great. Thank you. What about vines growing off secondaries. I have been cutting all those off too. Is it necessary. Does it help? Thanks. Steve

Those vines that grow off secondaries are called tertiary vines. All tertiary vines must go.

Hi. Great. Thank you. I had heard this but was not sure of source I had heard it from and not sure if it was a preference thing or not hahaha. However since they are hard to keep up with as plant gets bigger I thought "I would hate to be cutting these all off if it is not even necessary hahaha. Thanks again. Steve

tertiary vines can be a valuable asset, replace a lost secondary, fill in some otherwise wasted space in a plant, or simply let grow in a part of a planned pattern, as your experience increases you will find a use for them.
As a new grower pinch them when tiny and avoid further confusion at this point.
