What are tendrils (picture if possible) and what do I do with them.

the thin claw like '' wiskers'' they grab on to just about anything and can alow a plant to climb. Some growers leave em on, some snip em all off. I snip just the pesky ones off, the ones that keep the vine from lying down.

i snip um off. i dont want anything feeding off the plants energy unless its a main vine, side vine, flower or pumpkin.

Thanks i'll try cut them off, do I cut right at the main or just snip the little whiskers off

If you catch them early enough you just pinch them off. Otherwise any old knife or pruner will do.

Last year I only pruned them off if they were a problem..example..wee holding the vine up, were wapping the vine..etc.. Mark

jeremy tendrils grow off the vine tips only. you should not have them at the base of the plant. you may be taking off small flower formations if your cutting anything off at the base.
