i have two really pretty pumpkin plants that are about 6 feet long. big leaves and seem to be growing in the right direction. don't have any side vines to speak of yet just some nubs about a foot long.but, here is the disaster part, there are flowers on the main vine which i think are way way too early from ready paps book. do i pick these off?? what if i don't get a flower to grow at 9feet or so out??help!

Isu, or lsu....the plant's main objective is to reproduce itself...it will produce more flowers (females and males) to accomplish that goal. I picked off two females off my early plant yesterday, at approx 6' on the main. It will produce more females, and at approx 10' I will start to pollinate. Hope this helps. Peace, Wayne
PS...of course you realize there are no guarantees!!??
