I had planned on growing the AGHAIST1075’08 as my first serious attempt at growing a giant pumpkin. Well, as fate would have it, I left my AGHAIST1075’08 somewhere that I should not have and they got thrown away. I purchased some seeds at the online auction this web site had about a month ago. One of them was the 1462 Gibson. I was looking at the genetics for this seed on pumpkinlink.com. Man did I score or what! The parents of this seed have 72 pumpkins over 1000 pounds between them. So this is the seed I will be growing this year. I have a diary for the seed set up at http://www.midnightgardenerblog.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl Feel free to follow along! Good luck to everyone this year, see you at the weigh offs!

Alan, I am getting your emails. I sent you my address twice. Maybe it went into your junk folder.

I'm a new grower who has been researching and studying and in an area in New Hampshire which is known for giant pumpkins. My interest got started as a child when my uncle said he was going to grow giant pumpkins but he never followed through. That was forty years ago. Now I'm semi-retired and have the time to pay attention. I understand that in California there is an area that is quite conducive to growing giant pumpkins. Have met some great growers here in New England. I'll be watching your diary. Good luck, great growing.
